WHY THIS OR THAT?

We're spending extra money to go with the best shaft seal assembly on the market. It's made by Glide and it features a polymer housing and top seal components. Few will see it but it delivers the best performance, has the longest service life and will reduce operating costs for owners. As users ourselves, we do look at the specs of parts we put in our boats and in this case, while the seal is expensive, we feel it's worth it. We’re told no other builder has stepped up to this level of performance. The specs are impressive- flow rate:1gpm/ seal pressure: <1psi/ seal pressure limit: 55psi/ water temp: <190º/ shaft speed: <6000rpm.

So why do we do it? It's what we'd want in our own boats.
