Building Our Reputation One Boat at a Time

Gekko boats represent a small company with world-class aspirations. From our first boat crafted, Gekko entered the water sports arena by storm as the symbol for quality — built with perfect symmetry to exceptional tolerances. Our head-turning style captures compound curves, sweeping arcs and a muscular stature. That’s why wakeboarders and waterskiers look to Gekko to deliver electrifying, adrenaline-filled weekends year after year.

World-Class Innovation

Gekko stands out in the crowd with the industry’s most innovative hull design. Its patented configuration features a deep, forward keel that slices through the roughest chop to deliver the smoothest ride available. Our latest innovation includes split-radius pressure relief flutes that channel the water and eliminate chine spray for maximum acceleration. Combine these advances with our proprietary running gear and you’ve got the most satisfying drive on the water.

First-Class Performance

When it comes to the combination of speed and horsepower, Gekko is the fastest boat you can buy, with top ends in excess of 50 mph. In fact, the GTR 22 is only one of a handful of boats ever approved by the AWSA and ABC for record-capable slalom, trick, jump and barefoot events. This amazing machine just pulled the World Barefoot Championships and was recently the exclusive towboat for the European Barefooting Championships.

The Challenger Boat Family

In 2007 Challenger Powerboats, Inc. acquired North Dakota based IMAR Group, manufacturer of Gekko recreational towboats and Sugar Sand recreational jet boats. This significant milestone allowed Challenger to complete a world-class product line that now includes jet powered boats, ski tow boats, family sport cruisers and "go fast" high performance boats, ranging in size from 14 to 33 feet.
Gekko boat production is now incorporated into Challenger’s 65,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility located in their 12 acre complex in Washington, Missouri.
